Here I am. Sitting in my brown velvet chair in my house in Boulder, on a day when I’d normally be trying to stuff a suitcase full of bulky winter clothes and gifts for my family. Here in Colorado ski season is a highly anticipated paradigm shift. Friends coordinate season passes, weekend wake-up times drop dramatically, and goggle-tans begin replacing Chaco tans. Oh sure, the first few runs down the mile-long run at Loveland won’t rival your best-ever, but hey, you’re still rusty and every snowstorm of the next six months signals a new beginning and another opportunity to carve some first turns.
