Any fans out there of The Glass Castle by Jeanette Walls will be so jealous of me. Pam reviews new books for Oprah mag, and I found the advance copy of Jeanette’s new book (Half Broke Horses) sitting on Pam’s coffee table. It comes out in October. Let’s just say that her sophomore effort is about as good as her freshman. The story is about her grandmother’s life as a teacher and rancher. The gal is tough and Jeanette (yes we are on a first name basis) uses such an authentic voice, you really get to know her. I’ve got the last few chapters left and have to finish today so I can leave it where I found it. Will the perks ever end?
