
This is one healthy Halloween treat you’ll want to share with your kids and their friends! Apples are a wonderful source of fiber, pectin, minerals and complex carbs. — Eloise Nelson
6 apples, medium
20 medjool dates, pitted
½ cup warm water
3 T. raw almond butter
½ t. cinnamon
¼ t. sea salt
6 sticks
¼ cup crushed nuts of your choice, optional
Soak the dates in the warm water for an hour. Drain off the soak water and set aside. Combine soaked dates, almond butter, cinnamon, sea salt and 3 T. of the soak water in the food processor. Blend for several minutes to reach a very smooth consistency. Use a tablespoon to spread the mixture on the apple. Roll in crushed nuts.
