Introducing our newest bloggers, The Adventure Moms! Watch for their blog every third Monday of the month.
Being a kid is an adventure. Being a mom is an adventure. And while the outdoor adventures may change when children come into your life, they don’t have to stop. The Adventure Moms, with more years of experience than most of our kids can count, will show you how to make the most of any family’s time in the great outdoors. We choose fabulous, inspring, and sometimes lesser-known, destinations and share the best- of-the-best in family biking, climbing, skiing and hiking. We offer advice for brand-new adventurers, as well as seasoned veterans. We don’t try to be exclusive or intimidating, we just want to get families together outside.
Three moms, with three different areas of real-time expertise, we concisely direct your readers to the best trails, the best resorts, the best lodging and the best deals at each locale. We’ve also got great tips for getting your kids involved: from getting outdoors with really little ones to convincing balky teens that skiing with mom and dad doesn’t have to be boring. We share what we know about equipment, nutrition, motivation and safety. We profile amazing young athletes. We love adventure and we want to help other families discover and love adventure together, too.
Who We Are:
Jen Charrette lives under the rugged San Juan Mountains of Colorado. By day she juggles a full time job as a software engineer, mom and co-owner of a local bike shop. By night and weekends she enjoys growing her velomom.com blog, starting a local youth mountain bike team (Ridgway Devo), biking in the mountains and desert, and developing her two sons’ lifelong love of cycling.
Erica Lineberry hails from North Carolina near the foothills of the Appalachian mountains. Most days you can find her playing outside with her husband and toddler, whether its cranking her way up a rock face, hiking through a maze of rhododendron tunnels, or simply watching the sun set from her own backyard. Erica is the mama behind Cragmama.com, and also blogs for Climbing Magazine and Cruxn.com.
Kristen Lummis Born and raised where the powder meets the red rocks in Western Colorado, Kristen grew up skiing in the winter and hiking those same mountains in the summer. While her recreational passion is for skiing of all types, her deepest passion is for her family. She writes at braveskimom.com, and other blogs includingLiftopia.com, New West Snow Blog, Mile High Mamas and Momentumplanet.com.

Chicas, I just wanted to say thank you for your fantastic idea. I’m a mom of three little ones. I grew up in Denver and spent nearly every weekend either hiking in the Rocky Mountain National Forest, moutain biking wherever I could or skiing at Jane or Vail or wherever the cheapest junior pass was. I live now in Madrid Spain and have been dying to find still active moms to motivate me. I’ll be following your blog. Thanks so much. Besos, Sarah
As an adventuring mom, I can totally appreciate the need for tips. If anyone needs ideas for central Florida – let me know. We have the flat world at our fingertips (and some cool caves). I love to share! We have a small group of moms that enjoy some seriously fun outdoor adventures with the whole family now! I LOVE YOUR BLOG
Congratulations, Adventure Moms! I look forward to hearing about your kid-friendly adventures.
