A life-long skier, I tried boarding a few years ago. I gave it my all for an entire season, but the hassle of skating through catwalks, the ache of twisting my leg unnaturally to board the lift, and the limits of a fixed stance drove me back to skiing. It just hurt my knees too much, and I just wasn’t all that great at it, honestly. But, maybe my experience would have been different if Twisted Bindings had been an option then.
This new snowboarding accessory piece just might diminish each of those problems. The rotating binding mount allows a boarder to rotate her front foot to an angle parallel to her board for easy maneuverability on catwalks and in lift lines. Switching up her stance is as easy as releasing a spring-loaded pin and moving her foot until it locks into place. Plus, having a forward-facing foot helps minimize knee pain for a comfortable ride.
The company launched in September, inspired by knee pain and ankle stress caused by traditional bindings. And, much to our delight, it is run mostly by women. Check out their product at twistedbindings.com.

Not sure if this product is new, but we’ve been developing this same product for years now – and with all the benefits, it is difficult to sell accessories to snowboarders – especially in these times.
We are continuing to push the “Swivler”, as we have for many years – and would like to say that our product is made from aluminum, and although it may weigh a few more ounces than plastic, it most certainly will hold up to more abuse, and has less “flex” than plastic.
This has been a concern for customers – as they do not want the binding to come loose from the board during a run…
