Additionally, the blog is an up-to-date resource with articles of interest, events, environmental issues, book and movie reviews, organizations to join, and deals on hiking gear and apparel.
Adventure Film Festival – Boulder, Colorado based annual film festival featuring outdoor adventure films submitted by filmmakers from across the world. November festival travels to France and Chile.
The Conservation Alliance – outdoor industry business organization founded in 1989 that disburses its collective annual membership dues to grassroots environmental organizations. Funding is provided through grants to community-based campaigns nationwide.
Leave No Trace Center for Outdoor Ethics – educational, nonprofit organization dedicated to responsible enjoyment and active stewardship of the outdoors.
HERA Foundation – ovarian cancer nonprofit organization
GoGirlGo! – the Women’s Sports Foundations website for girls
Susan G. Komen for the Cure - the only organization fighting to cure breast cancer at every stage
Outdoor Industries Women’s Coalition – equipping women to achieve their success in outdoor industries
Plus3 Network – an online social community for people who want to make a commitment to fitness. When you join Plus3, you are able to log miles either by hand or with a GPS device if you use one in your sport (riding, running, swimming, walking, hiking, anything that involves traveling a distance). You then have an opportunity to choose a corporate sponsoring partner, who will donate a certain amount to a charitable cause in your name. Plus3 currently has thirteen sponsors/causes you can chose from, but more are being added each day.
