We first tested LG’s Revo women’s shoe last year and were favorably impressed. Since then, Louis Garneau has made some wonderful improvements to this shoe, significantly lightening them and increasing comfort.
This shoe features Louis Garneau’s Ergo Air ventilation system, a series of screened ports along the length of the shoe’s sole that let in plenty of air to the bottom of your foot, in fact, more ventilation through the sole of the shoe than any other model we tested. The Revos come with nifty hot and cold insoles to keep your feet comfortable whatever the temperature is during your ride. One insole blocks the air coming up through the sole and the other lets the maximum amount through while still providing a foam cushion.
Revo XR2s are a solid choice for women looking to upgrade to their first nice pair of full-featured buckle and strap road shoes at a great price. They come in a size range of US 6 to 12 with a medium width (testers with wide feet felt a little confined), and are compatible with the major pedal/cleat systems. The sole material is a carbon/nylon mix, providing a stiff platform at a slightly higher weight than a full carbon sole. $130 www.louisgarneau.com
