I was just recently congratulating myself on cycle-commuting to work all winter long without a flat tire. Shouldn’t have. Not two days later, I heard that horrible “sssssssss” on the way to work. Dang! Time to find out if I have all the necessary stuff in my seat bag. Hmmm…..tire tools, patch kit (with missing parts), pump….whoops, no reading glasses so I’ll have to feel for the glass bit in the tire. I was able to work around the missing patch kit part and the glass bit was big enough to find sans glasses but I had to pump the tube up and listen my way to the tiny puncture.
Then I noticed a little packet I’d put in my bag way back during the winter. It was one of Zogics CitraWipes! I can’t walk two feet from a bike without chain grease jumping out on me, so changing a tire was definitely a very messy affair. The CitraWipe made short work of the dirt and grease and my hands didn’t feel all chemically afterwards. I arrived at work with fairly clean hands and the confident air of a seasoned road warrior. Fabulous!
