For High-intensity Hiking

The X-Treme’s funky design and styling are true to Nathan’s innovative approach to pack-making. The X-style harness crisscrosses the chest to disperse and stabilize heavy loads while mesh backing keeps it light and airy. For sports like cycling and running, we relished the security and ergonomic fit of this harness. But one big-busted Women’s Adventure tester said the chest-framing made her feel a bit self-conscious on the trail.
You hardly notice the pack while you’re wearing it, but because of the over-head entry to the harness, taking it off frequently is a drag. Nathan mitigated that by adding a handy pouch on the strap that fits a cell phone (not an iPhone) or fast energy eats.
