For the past couple weeks, I have had to unwillingly “chill out”. This is not something I do well. I recently had to drop out of a six day adventure race due to stomach issues. It was one of the hardest moments ever, but my body was screaming, “STOP!”

This flow comes from traditional Ashtanga with a little flare of my own added in. It is a sequence I often use as a warm-up before my strong flow or as a cool down after a day climbing and playing hard outside.

As is often the case in life, reaching our destination wasn’t easy, but it was almost harder to figure out what to do once we arrived. That part can be scary and debilitating.

I will have a great session on the slackline and be really happy with myself, but then go climbing and get frustrated. I am often not in the present moment, not patient with myself, and my own worst critic. It all boils down to this. I can’t do everything… yet.
