This flow comes from traditional Ashtanga with a little flare of my own added in. It is a sequence I often use as a warm-up before my strong flow or as a cool down after a day climbing and playing hard outside. This is not a full tutorial on how to do each pose, but rather a demonstration of a sequence you can add to your existing practice or save for a rainy day.
I filmed this at Wanderlust Yoga Festival in Squaw Valley, Lake Tahoe, California. We YogaSlackers taught slack lining at this gathering where many populations—yogis, artists, hoopers, and belly-dancers—came together then took a quick 24 hour break to compete in the Big Blue Adventure Race! But that’s another story.
Till now, you have only seen V.I.B.E. online, but a DVD is now available on our YogaSlackers website. Yoga for Acrobats is a strong vinyasa that helps us get in shape for our acrobatic immersions and workshops.
It has been awesome connecting with all of the women and readers of Women’s Adventure magazine. Please don’t hesitate to send in your comments or connect with me via Facebook or e-mail. I look forward to sharing more and more with all of you as I continue on my journey!
